God Is Great, Dogs Are Good and People Are Crazy

GOD Is Great, Dogs Are Good, People Are Crazy (Verse 1) Old man sittin’ on a rusted chair Feedin’ scraps to a dog named Bear Said, “Son, this world’ll test your soul Take your money, leave you cold” I’ve seen saints in a broken bar And devils drivin’ brand-new cars One thing I learned through all these years Truth gets clearer through the tears (Chorus) God is great Dogs are good People are crazy — like I knew they would Some will love ya Some will lie Some will smile while they wave goodbye But a dog still waits at the end of the day And Heaven still listens when you pray Yeah life gets wild, but maybe that’s okay God is great Dogs are good People are crazy (Verse 2) Buddy of mine lost everything House, his job, his wedding ring But that old shepherd never left his side Slept beside him every night And down at church on Sunday morn I watched broken people being reborn Funny how grace still finds a way Even in this messed up place (Chorus) God is great Dogs are good People are crazy — like I knew they would Some will help ya Some will run Some throw dirt just to block the sun But a tail still wags when the whole world shakes And mercy’s bigger than our mistakes Yeah maybe we’re all just lost in the rain God is great Dogs are good People are crazy (Bridge) So raise a glass to the ones still true The ones who stayed when the hard times blew To muddy paws and amazing grace And every scar life couldn’t erase (Final Chorus) God is great Dogs are good People are crazy — misunderstood We break hearts We break down Still somehow love comes back around And when my final day is through I hope Heaven’s got dogs there too ‘Cause down here that’s the one thing I know is true God is great Dogs are good People are crazy
